ABOUT

As an artist, the most important thing I can leave to my children are the moments in time that I capture of them and for them.  So when they are unable to remember everything they did when they were just little things, I can pull out a book (a very thick book) and I can say, "this is what you wore the first day of kindergarten and this is what you looked like when you were still taller than your brother and this is how big you smiled when your sister dressed you in her tutus and you were too young to know better".

Mine are almost grown now and how grateful I am to have those memories forever captured.  That is what I am thinking when I photograph a brand new mom holding her tiny newborn or a dad as he tickles his little boy until he can't stop laughing or the gaggle of squirmy siblings making ridiculous faces at each other while their parents threaten them within an inch of their lives somewhere out of my line of sight. It is that ability - that fine line between observer and documenter - that makes me capture things the way I do and have the style I chose to have. You see, as a photographer, I know unequivocally that one day it will be too late.  They are only little one time, they are only teenagers one time and I promise you this, they will ask you one day, where are all of our photographs.  Not the digital ones on an old i-Phone that no longer works, but the real photographs that should be gracing the walls of your home and sitting proudly in beautiful picture frames.

My passion for this craft is woven into every assignment I take and I will always bring something unique and thoughtful to the process for each client, every time.
